latest...

So what's new this week?

Firstly, was glad to read some comments from The Shadow Hunters, which is encouraging to see, for instance:

"That's just made me hunger for more, I'm not normally a comic fan at all but the drawing style and the story was enough for me to quickly fly from page to page. Great stuff!" - Pope

"Pretty good stuff! Liking the drawings, and the woman is SO much like my missus ¬_¬" - Bones

"That's pretty good. The drawing style reminds me of someone but I can't think who.... only 8 strips :( " - Deetz

You can find the complete thread here:

Was well happy to see that people who visit the site are going straight to the story and am at the same time cursing as I've only put 8 pages up the first week.

Secondly, a dutch view. - Harry(Potter they call him), a friend of 'Smith' called me last week when out on home leave(permiso) to give some positive feedback on the site, aswell as to put forward an idea he had which was to put flyers on the site in dutch so as the site catches on, it'll be friendly to and can be promoted to his fellow dutch, whom he thinks would really like the book(he's read it all) and the site once it hits its stride.

Following this, Fran from my town was the latest local to read the complete book and agreed with the flyer idea. - She lived, studied and worked in Holland for ten years or more and thought many dutch would greatly enjoy the book.

So the site designer Nooode is now putting some flyers together from Fran's translation and they should be up any day soon.

For now I'm busy drawing and inking. Should have some local press coverage and once I get a handle on how to scan images into the blog I'll post them up.

Item 1 Blog/news

At Last!! - The official opening day for the site begins with the first eight pages of 'Smuggling Vacation' going up!

It is of course early days and I hope we can get as many people visiting the site and reading the story each month. If you like it, then I urge you to tell everyone, as the growth of this site is very much going to rely on good word of mouth.

So far only thirty people have read the completed book, a score being inmates at 'Smith's' prison in Spain. Many of these inmates were in prison on drug smuggling charges; sentenced, awaiting trial or expulsion. The reviews and feedback on points of crime were excellent, even though the version they read was made up of crude photocopies and colour copies.

Some of these prisoners, including Smith, will be released this year in Spain or to their countries of origin. Either way I hope some will be in touch with this site to see what happened to Smith and the drug smuggling comic book he was working on and passing around their cells these last twelve months.

I think the modern criminal world and its black market fascinates just about everyone. Whether you are/have been part of that criminal world in some way, know people in it or are just an interested spectator. Keep visiting the site as there is much to come.

New pages'll be up every fortnight, and once we're into the story I'll be interested to hear the feedback.

So for now, happy reading.

Regards
